hindsight
while we were taking it too easy they dropped the shells and we forgot the clock that we swore before to not ignore
we had our reasons. a million reasons.
like one more day here and we'd of known just what to do?
"just like we would have known just want to do and would have done it too."
we all wanted "quick & easy" but now we're crying because we fucked ourselves again and now we're freaking out?
we had our reasons. there's always reasons.
"like one more day here and we'd of known just what to do?…and could have done it too?"
when the last cargo ship was pillaged, later to the combers delight,
the final remaining bullshit machine floated that long ass drift across the sea.
"it was not the the first red flag. we always thought that it couldn't get much worse. we always thought, ""not bad!"" - (message in a bottle)

don taylor loved his family. he loved his land. now, a tiny piece of paradise is all that survived
the gentrified suburban apocalypse. a UGB thats been pushed back again and again.
don was sadly hustled way back then but he was a very kind and honest man. he was an all-American. he went to every beavers baseball game. he had faith in everyone and everything.
including the developers who made an offer that don could not refuse. and he did not refuse.
to this day his land is the same. a refuge for the creatures that remain. still inspired by the sounds of children playing in the adjacent schoolyard on school days.

"well, these shopping cart wheels burn up the road
and that bridge was the last fucking dry place to go.
these taped up cheap boots are failing me.
this is not how i imagined that my life would be
but I'm holding on"
"i miss the sound of my own wheels on the road
i miss a fire lights warming burning glow
i wish that this world had been kind to me
i wish that i had the company of family"
i am living with rats. all night they chew me up. friends help friends. i let them feed. sometimes I worry that I might step on them. we have helped each other out so much.
sometimes I wake up and its not so bad - like when the sun shines. like when my head's straight -
these days are just too dark to see.

i was caught up in the moment again but then it slipped away. I am tired of all these changes in my way. just a little more. just a little taste.
i awoke before the dawn again but its still so far away. I walk just to remember anything and I know it will come my way. just a little more. just a little taste. just a little more of
cut grass, first rains, cheap gum in a pack of trading cards
cheap cars, crap rock on cassette, piece of shit train sets, VHS
hit parader, headbanger's ball & metal edge
zonk out, 2 am, KABOO Dead, now the game is going upstairs…
